Artificial Intelligence has taken all industries by storm. There is not one profession that is currently making the most of AI and why shouldn't they? This is the kind of technology that humans have always dreamed of. When ChatGPT was launched a few years ago, not many people in India were aware of it and the kind of potential it held in terms of being an interactive tool. And today, there are almost 5 to 6 different AI tools like ChatGPT on almost everyone’s mobile and it does not matter whether you are from a city or in the rural part of India. The boom of artificial intelligence is not just at the top level, where billionaires are investing in AI startups to create more billionaires. Today, AI has become as common as taking a bath before leaving your house in the summer. Everywhere you look, there is someone or another using AI. And Dheeraj Sudan who runs MHDS Techno Soft with Meenu Hinduja, is not surprised that today, the number of AI downloads in a country like India, which is the world’s most populous country, is reaching a staggering rate of close to 70%.

Dheeraj Sudan and Meenu Hinduja are also not surprised that the AI downloads that are happening in India are not just free tools that users are downloading. Dheeraj was quick to voice his opinion, “India is not a developing country anymore because we have worked hard and we deserve the title of world’s fourth largest economy and you know why, because the purchasing power of Indians is increasing every year. Most Indians are starting to fall under the bracket where their income actually has the potential to overcome inflation and the result is that even their children can now make purchases without having second thoughts. The Indian app market crossed the monetisation figure of 300 million dollars alone in the first quarter of 2026, as opposed to 225 million dollars in 2025. These are not small numbers and a result of 62 billion downloads that mark a new milestone in how India is scaling. And no, we are not just focusing on gaming app downloads. In fact, the most noticeable factor is that 72% of the downloads are non-gaming related. This only sheds light on the fact that India is becoming a knowledgeable user and is leveraging AI tools rather than just using them for pure gaming purposes.”
Dheeraj Sudan’s partner Meenu Hinduja feels that this noticeable growth of in-app purchases and downloads shows that India is slowly but steadily getting the gist of how to monetize from AI tools and this in turn will soon show a positive impact on the overall GDP of the Indian economy.
